Indian Summer Sky
Bono scrisse il testo da qualche parte a New York, probabilmente a Manhattan durante il War tour. Un amico di Bono aveva vissuto a Toronto e si sentiva turbato da quella città fredda e brillante. In quella zona erano stati massacrati un sacco di indiani e lui aveva la sensazione che le loro anime travagliate fossero ancora presenti. Ciò che Bono cercò di esprimere fu la sensazione che può provare uno spirito intrappolato in una giungla di cemento. La canzone è intrisa di qualità epiche: da una parte il vento, l’oceano,il cielo e la terra, dall’altra il cuore e l’anima e poi ancora cuore ed anima.
